We Started Civic Shield Because the Alternative Wasn't Working
Most firearms training spaces weren't built with everyone in mind. The culture, the language, the vibe. It's not always welcoming if you're newer to this, or if you've spent your life reading rooms to figure out if you're safe.
We're Matt and Pablo, co-founders and Colorado Springs residents. Between us we bring military service, community organizing, and a straightforward belief that responsible firearm ownership should be accessible to everyone, not just people who already feel comfortable walking through the door.
Civic Shield exists for the person who wants to learn, wants to be responsible, and just needs a space that treats them like an adult who belongs there.

What We Offer
Every class is small group, safety-focused, and taught by instructors who understand that questions are the whole point.
Why Civic Shield
Welcoming by Design
We don't just say everyone's welcome. The curriculum, the language, and the environment are all built around making that true.
Small Groups Only
We keep classes small on purpose. Better instruction, more questions answered, and nobody gets lost in the crowd.
Community First
Civic Shield shows up beyond the range. You'll find us at community events, protests, and anywhere our audience is.
